STEP4SEAS project purpose is to promote the development of educative policies that foster the inclusion of disadvantaged learners based on Successful Actions (SEAs) implemented through collaborative work from schools, universities and governments. The Successful Educational Actions had been identified by INCLUDE-ED research, Strategies for inclusion and Social Cohesion in Europe, a project funded by the European Commission under the Sixth Framework Program (FP6 2006-2011). The findings of this research across 14 European countries indicated the possibility of transferring SEA across other countries in order to increase the performance and achievements of disadvantaged learners in the education system.
STEP4SEAS project will work to ensure that SEAS is implemented in schools and communities across Europe and that governments and universities draft policies that would further aid in the implementation of SEA. The intended social impact of this project is the creation of a more inclusive educational system for disadvantaged learners and in turn the improvement of social cohesion. As for the political realm, STEP4SEAS expects that the government will work closer with universities and schools to implement more policies and strategies to upscale the impact of SEA.
Scientific Basis of the Project
The STEP4SEAS project is based on rigorous research developed by more than 80 researchers over the last 30 years and validated by the INCLUD-ED project.
