Help us stop the lynching we are suffering

02/10/2025

We call on institutions, the media, and society to act to stop the lynching campaign we are suffering, with continuous attacks on our professional and personal lives by a very specific minority of individuals and groups. Some of these attacks have had very serious consequences.

The most recent case arose after we disseminated a scientific article we had published, which is a duty of scientists so that it can benefit society. We immediately received a public criticism from members of academia claiming that the article was not important because it was not in the JCR. A young coauthor responded by presenting evidence that it was indeed in the JCR. Immediately, a private entity, with a name that could resemble that of an official institution, released a new statement (for which they requested signatures), fully supporting that erroneous criticism and demanding that we be forbidden from making such clarifications in response to the continuous attacks we receive.

Anyone who conducts even a minimal analysis of networks and media over the last three months can see that all the attacks have been initiated by this minority against CREA and its members; not once have we initiated them. We have always responded by clarifying the mistakes in the attacks made against us, as in the case mentioned above.

They attack the “Learning Communities” project and the Successful Educational Actions, which are achieving major improvements in the educational outcomes of all students in thousands of schools; they attack the “Zero Violence Brave Clubs,” one of the programs that has most effectively overcome bullying suffered by thousands of children; they attack the schools that implement it directly. They also attack our personal lives: if a young victim we are supporting wears a miniskirt, what another one does in her free time, whom another chooses to relate to, they attack a mother for defending the freedom of her adult daughter. They attack fellow researchers for having brilliant careers while being mothers.

They not only want to continue with their lynching, but also demand that we accept it submissively.

We call on institutions, the media, and society to act to stop this lynching.
