OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF CREA, BARCELONA DECEMBER 23, 2025

CREA is a network of people committed to science with social impact, where each member carries out their work with complete academic freedom and autonomy within their respective universities and research groups. Our mission has always been to put research at the service of those who need it most, especially the victims who have come to us for support.

For years, because of its work helping victims, CREA has been the target of systematic and ongoing harassment. Since the beginning of the first smear campaign against our organization, we have been subjected to intense pressure to leave the network. Those of us who have not done so have faced persistent discrimination in public competitions and academic appointments, with the sole purpose of punishing our commitment to victims.

The current campaign has exponentially intensified this pressure, harassment, and discrimination, causing serious consequences for the physical and emotional health of our members. This continued harassment has made it impossible for the network to continue.

In light of this situation, and with the primary objective of preventing further professional harm to our members and protecting their personal integrity, we announce the decision to end the CREA network with immediate effect.
